They are located in the department of Madre de Dios, in the southeast of Peru, in the basin of Palotoa River within the Manu National Park,a level of 529 m.s.n.m. They were discovered in 1921 by Fr.Dominican Vicente de CenitagoyaPusharo petroglyphs show a variety of images foranthropomorphic, snakes, cats prints, representationsgeometric, zoomorphic and astronomical reasons. These prints were facts about rock walls, the largest measuring about 30 meterslong and its height ranges between 4 and 8 meters.Until today there is no consensus about the likely time of its completion. Most opinions are based on the observation of the figures, as there are no associated materials that allow for the petroglyphs dating carbonic radio.Whereas some representative icons, the site seems to correspond to a long sequence of occupation, although to most of the prints belong to the imperial Inca period(1430-1532)
